Let's celebrate the history and the craft, the art and memories that photography gives us, as it has become such an important part of all our lives.

If you love photography, you can mark this special day with some cool photography-related ideas.

1) Organise your photos

In the age of digital photography, the number of photos stored on our devices is more than ever before. Many of us also keep boxes of printed photos in attics and cupboards. Photos are treasures and deserve respect. A great way to celebrate World Photography Day is to take some time to organise all your photographic memories. Check out my post sort and save your photos!

2) Invest in photography

Your house becomes your home when beautiful pictures are hung on the walls and displayed on shelves. So use the day to invest in a framed photo from one of your favourite photographers. Or take some time to print, frame and hang one of your personal favourites that you have taken!

3) The gift of a photo

What better way to celebrate World Photography Day than to spread the joy and wonder of this wonderful art? There are so many ways to do this, from taking a meaningful photo of someone special, to giving gift vouchers to friends and family to use anytime, anywhere, you’ll be celebrating the day and doing something for your loved ones.

4) Share awareness

You can use World Photography Day to share or take pictures that help fight for a charity that you are passionate about! One of the best ways to raise awareness of a cause or charity that you care about is to educate others and share that cause with them. Pictures and photography can help you do this. There’s a reason we say a picture speaks a thousand words and that is because a visual image can relay so much at once.

5) Gifting

It happens that World Photography Day falls towards the end of August, and as September approaches, many of us start to anticipate the coming of Autumn and dare I say Christmas. Starting to think about gifts to buy, cards to send, and parties to plan. Let today’s celebration help you check off some Christmas gift ideas. Get some ideas for gifts in my post on Gift Buying Guide For Flower Lovers

I hope this list inspires you to celebrate World Photography Day, whether you use one of these ideas or find your own. However you celebrate, use my special discounts to get gifts and art, and tag #susanphelps on social media to show me what you do!
